Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT work in the Cary/Raleigh market. You will run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a backlog of won work and direct access to senior leadership.

The role emphasizes end-to-end project leadership, budget and schedule ownership, and coordinating with field teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget. Relocation to the Triangle area is welcomed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil/highway/bridge/utility projects.
• NCDOT project experience required; be ready to name the jobs.
• End-to-end project delivery experience; not an APM/Engineer role.
• Contractor-side background only; not consultancy/inspection.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field-team management.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and manage variances.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as the main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report to leadership.
• Collaborate with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Maintain a strong safety culture on every site.
