Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to lead a large Rotors IPT within Compression Systems Engineering at East Hartford, CT. The role requires on-site work, DoD security clearance eligibility, and strong leadership in engineering projects for turbine engines.

The ideal candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risk, and ensure cost-effective, producible designs with extensive interaction with management and suppliers.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor-level or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 8+ years of experience OR advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience in aerospace/jet engine environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead IPTL to meet task and technical requirements, guiding component development.
• Communicate status and technical content to CIPT and upper management.
• Perform Control Account Manager duties to track progress and budget.
• Integrate and manage industrial activities with procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans; drive continuous improvement.
• Travel up to 10%.
