Job summary

Blythe Construction is seeking a Project Engineer in North Carolina to support schedule development and management on asphalt and road projects. The role requires 5–10 years of related experience and a civil engineering or construction management degree.

Responsibilities include formulating schedules, processing change orders, tracking costs, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring safety. Strong communication and software proficiency are essential, with oversight of onsite engineers.

Qualifications

• Five or more years as a Project Engineer with roads, highways, and bridges experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in formulating and updating project schedule.
• Build and maintain a CPM schedule.
• Initiate purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders for PM review.
• Track weekly production quantities for cost reports.
• Produce and verify monthly pay requests with owner.
• Coordinate material deliveries and shop drawings with field teams.
• Maintain the project schedule including materials, equipment, and subs.
• Schedule equipment moves and coordinate on-site activities.
• Ensure safe working environment and supervise field engineers.
