Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to lead High Density Liquid Cooling (HDLC) and Integrated Solutions installation projects across the United States. You will manage technical execution from procurement through commissioning, guiding installers and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires up to 50% travel, with location flexibility to Lorain, OH or remote with relevant experience in liquid cooling or data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or related role.
• Strong understanding of thermal dynamics and heat transfer principles.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead on liquid cooling and IS installation projects, providing engineering guidance to installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead the installation of Vertiv CDUs, SFN manifolds, Rear Door Heat Exchangers, SmartRow 2 and VACS systems from planning through commissioning.
• Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and order installation materials for timely delivery to sites.
• Perform pre-installation site walks to assess readiness and validate design assumptions against field conditions.
• Provide hands-on technical assistance to installation crews and resolve issues.
• Create and maintain project documentation and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Vertiv standards, client requirements, and codes/regulations.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Operations, Quality, and Field Engineering to ensure profitability.
