Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to serve as the technical authority on complex industrial refrigeration and gas compression projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through concept to commissioning, ensure technical excellence, and drive improvements in standards and practices.

You will mentor engineers, manage risks, and collaborate with customers and internal partners to deliver safe, reliable, and commercially successful solutions. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience leading complex engineered-to-order industrial equipment or systems projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in industrial refrigeration, gas compression, pressure piping systems, or related thermodynamic process systems.
• Strong knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Understanding of P&IDs, system design, equipment integration, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing technical risk, project schedules, engineering deliverables, and customer-facing execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present to all levels.
