Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Project Engineer to direct engineering activities for industrial refrigeration and gas compression projects. You will act as the main technical contact, coordinating disciplines, managing change orders, and ensuring on-time delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background with 5+ years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal guidance.
Strong written and verbal communication, and collaboration across teams.
Willingness to travel 10–15% and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Develop estimates and schedules for project execution and change orders.
Own engineering deliverables from inception to completion, including field start-up support.
Report progress, risks, and resource loading to management.
Review and ensure compliance with codes and standards (ASME, NFPA, AWS, etc.).
Collaborate with sales to confirm customer specifications and design requirements.
Coordinate with vendors for special equipment and materials.
Lead cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and drive process improvements.
Mentor junior engineers in processes, risk management, and project execution.
