Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Harrison, OH is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead large-scale, cross-functional engineering projects in the pork and packaged meat industry. You will design, develop, and implement solutions, manage a team of engineers, coordinate with vendors and plant personnel, and travel up to 50% to other locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years' leadership experience including team development.
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to design and operations.
• Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
• PM and contract administration skills; knowledge of national codes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong organizational skills.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering designs, specs, and cost estimates; review submissions and manage vendors.
• Plan layouts with vendors, review consultants, and maintain documentation.
• Prepare and evaluate proposals; provide regular project status reports.
• Manage contracts, budgets, schedules; ensure specifications and budgets are met.
• Lead and coach engineers to foster growth and performance.
