Job summary

The New York Power Authority is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects, oversee budgets, schedules and staffing, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

You will coordinate internal and external resources, develop design documents, manage contracts and provide mentorship to junior engineers, while traveling up to 25% within NY state as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Energy Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years’ experience, incl. 3+ years in PM/Construction Management, preferably in utility or related industries.
• Preferred: certifications such as EIT, PMP, DBIA, CCM, CEM.

Responsibilities

• Lead all stages of project lifecycle from initiation to closeout for highly complex projects.
• Oversee internal and external resources for all project activities.
• Ensure licensing, environmental, permitting, safety, and code compliance requirements are met.
• Develop and manage design documents, budgets, forecasts, and bid proposals.
• Coordinate with engineers, customers, and contractors on changes and sequencing.
• Review project docs, calculations, reports, and risk registers for accuracy.
