Job summary

FedEx is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead the coordination of system requirements, program specifications, and code/unit tests for major projects. The role emphasizes leadership in testing, problem resolution, and mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure deliverables meet business needs, integrate OO development and client/server technologies, and uphold software engineering standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, and/or equivalent formal.
Five (5) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
Skill in one or more programming languages used by FedEx. Good communication skills.
Requires IBM operating systems or microprocessor experience.
LMS experience. Requires experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development, or case tools.
Knowledge of software engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and initiative to the development of deliverables for additional levels of testing and test execution, including system level and integration tests.
Lead and/or assist in resolution of complex production problems.
Mentor development of those in less senior positions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
