Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a senior software leader to drive design, development and implementation of large-scale projects. You will code across layers, mentor developers and ensure secure, scalable performance while aligning with product and business goals.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review code, and evaluate new technologies. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Azure is expected, along with strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or directly related work experience.
• Five (5) years' work experience in information technology or engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong programming skills.
• Proven computer/coding skills in multiple languages.
• Analytical, problem solving, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good presentation skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with professionals from a range of technical and non-technical backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Designs software code using multiple programming languages.
• Architect and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance software.
• Tests newly developed software code.
• Documents code per the Company's processes.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues, managers, vendors, user focus groups and comments, and other stakeholders.
• Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards and is compatible with all hardware and software.
• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
