Job summary

The City of Seattle is hiring a Senior Program Intake Representative (PIR) to lead complex intake assignments and assist the manager with daily operations, reporting, and issue resolution. This civil-service role emphasizes policy interpretation, enrollment processing, and cross-team training in the FEPP Early Learning programs.

The Senior PIR will monitor workloads, mentor staff, handle escalated cases, and coordinate with external partners to ensure accurate eligibility and enrollment,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a social science, education, or related field.
• Three years of experience interviewing families for eligibility and enrollment, preferably in childcare.
• Bachelor’s degree in a social science, education, or related field + two years of similar experience.
• Four years of experience interviewing families for eligibility and enrollment in childcare/preschool settings.

Responsibilities

• Speak to families, evaluate needs, and determine eligibility for services.
• Explain program guidelines and eligibility requirements.
• Review applications for completeness and income documents to determine eligibility.
• Arrange interpreter services for non-English speaking families.
• Conduct outreach activities and monitor caseload.
• Prepare correspondence and make recommendations for exceptions.
• Maintain records, update data, and coordinate forms.
• Train and onboard other team members.
• Provide information and referrals to services through other agencies.
• Utilize database to manage information and maintain data integrity.
