Job summary

St Vincent de Paul, Louisville (SVDP) seeks a Lead Program Aide to support the Sr. Program Manager and Clinical Services Supervisor with essential duties. You will help maintain 24-hour front desk coverage, supervise staff, and ensure safety and order in the facility.

The role requires a high school diploma and a commitment to the organization’s mission. Responsibilities include overseeing daily logs, coordinating staff tasks, and collaborating with various teams to sustain program operations.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Sober for at least 2 years or 1 year out of SVDP programs if a former client.
  • Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Model preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of St Vincent de Paul.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security for the building and support for clients
  • Assist the Sr. Program Manager in maintaining the schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage of the front desk and the building.
  • Create the weekly work schedule for support staff
  • Respond to questions and concerns of other program aides
  • Ensure facility and grounds are safe, clean, and orderly by rounds
  • Oversee house rules and procedures to maintain order and operations
  • Delegate and inspect chores
  • Supervise clients managing critical tasks (supplies, kitchen, chores)
  • Check for drugs or alcohol and complete random drug screens as necessary
  • Provide oversight to other program aides about drug screens
  • Maintain written log of all activities per shift
  • Complete monthly safety topics and fire drill logs
  • Document client files and intake/discharge information
  • Daily update log to Centerstone
  • Collaborate with St. Jude Staff to sustain operations
  • Route questions to After Hours staff or Sr. Program Manager as needed

Position Summary:

The Lead Program Aide contributes to the Agency by assisting the Sr. Program Manager and Clinical Services Supervisor with various duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide security for the building and support for clients
  • Assist the Sr. Program Manager in maintaining the schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage of the front desk and the building.
  • Will be responsible for creating the weekly work schedule for support staff
  • Will be responsible for responding to the questions and concerns of other program aides
  • Ensure that the facility and its immediate grounds are safe, clean, and orderly by conducting rounds
  • Oversee the implementation of house rules and procedures to maintain order and the structure of operations. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Delegating and inspecting chores
  • Supervising the clients who are delegated to manage critical tasks (supply lists, kitchen coordination, chores, etc.)
  • Checking for the presence of drugs or alcohol and completing random drug screens as necessary
  • Provides oversight and approval to other program aides about drug screens
  • Maintain a written log of all activities on each worked shift.
  • Complete the monthly safety topics and complete fire drill logs for the staff and clients in accordance with the program’s safety manual.
  • Complete documentation for client files, such as intake and discharge information, residency verification letters, and case review notes for case managers
  • Will be responsible for completing a daily update log and sending it to Centerstone
  • Work cooperatively with all St. Jude Staff to sustain program operations and to advise the Program Manager of concerns and needs in a timely manner
  • This position will be responsible for receiving questions from other Program Aides and determining if the situation warrants contact with the After Hours staff person, or being shifted to the Sr. Program Manager, the following work day.
  • Other duties as assigned, including performing duties specific to the scheduled shift
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Good communication skills: verbal, written, and listening
  • Complete Crisis Prevention and Intervention training
  • Minimum 2 years sober or 1 year out of SVDP programs, if a former client
  • Knowledge of the 12‑Step Recovery Model is preferred
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of St Vincent de Paul
Requirements
Education, Qualifications, Certifications, Trainings, Licenses:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted
  • Must submit to the annual Tuberculosis
  • Must complete Narcan, CPR, and First Aid Training
  • Peer Support Specialist training preferred (will be offered to staff periodically)
  • Successfully pass any required pre‑employment background and drug screening
