Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Production Technician Supervisor to lead a high-performing team of technicians and welders in electromechanical assembly. You will drive production plans, manage daily workflows, and coordinate with manufacturing management to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in a formal manufacturing leadership role and 10 years across mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and cryogenic systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a formal leadership role in a manufacturing setting.
• 10+ years across mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, soldering, and wiring.
• Reading/understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports; 3D CAD experience a plus.
• Strong safety and quality focus with the ability to communicate this to your team.
• Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Hire and supervise a team of Production technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts and assemblies.
• Execute on production plans, priorities, and schedules provided by manufacturing management and planning.
• Organize daily task lists and workflow by assigning responsibilities to the proper people.
• Lead cross-functional daily stand-up meetings with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery; write daily updates and quality reports.
• Establish safety plans and protocols with EHSS and ensure area cleanliness standards are met.
• Run training programs for key team skills and processes.
• Manage and approve timecards; biannual reviews for all direct reports; partner with Human Resources on personnel issues.
• Perform R&D and prototype hardware builds with minimal documentation and oversight.
• Perform production hardware builds according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies with a focus on continuous improvement.
