This role offers 12-hour shifts with the potential for overtime, as needed. The individual selected for this role will be assigned to Shift 25 (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Alternating Wednesdays from 6:45AM - 7PM MST).

The Lead Production Technician is responsible for coordinating workflow and executing the planned maintenance schedule for a production area within the manufacturing department to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals, all while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. This role will also coordinate with other departments, as needed, to maintain a smooth workflow.

What you’ll do

1. Ensure production schedule is met by monitoring line performance, identifying and resolving issues, and allocating resources accordingly.
2. Complete all training and certification requirements to safely and effectively operate all production equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
3. Cross-train on equipment and tasks across multiple areas and rotate as needed. This includes performing machine start-up and shut-down procedures, monitoring equipment performance, and adjusting parameters within validated standards.
4. Coordinate and provide training for others on operating production equipment and machinery.
5. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, such as cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication, and parts replacements, escalating issues as necessary.
6. Provide directions for cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
7. Ensure size and product changeovers are completed according to the production schedule, utilizing tools like Gantt charts for planning.
8. Log data into the computerized production tracking system, ensuring data integrity through audits.
9. Maintain compliance with quality standards, perform quality checks, and document accordingly.
10. Mentor operators and production staff on troubleshooting tasks.
11. Escalate non-routine and complex issues following the facility escalation procedures.
