Job description

Weekend Shift: Fri - Sun 4:00AM - 5:30PM

What you will do:

As Lead Extrusion Technician, you will provide manufacturing, product and process co-ordination support to the manufacturing line. Co-ordinate schedules, conduct general production training, and be first escalation point for general questions or issues on the line. Under supervisory direction, function as the leader of a production team to meet critical KPIs ls for the assembly of components and/or devices. This role requires the employee to always maintain the quality and integrity of the product.

  • Ensure line balance by managing daily work assignments of production associates and coordinate overtime staffing
  • Conduct or coordinate on the job trainings
  • Responsible for leading team meetings, including effectively discussing safety, quality, output, yield, training, action, recognition, and announcements
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, such as Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Planning
  • Provide direction to production associates (PAs) relating to following processes and ensuring quality
  • Track and monitor area performance against site objectives using daily management process
  • Responsible for calibration reports and logistics
  • Responsible for promoting a safe and respectful work environment, engagement initiatives and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Basic understanding of LEAN/6S concepts and of production process and manufacturing flow

What you need:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of extrusion machining experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years manufacturing/ operations or related experience.
  • 1+ years' experience leading teams.
  • Medical device experience
  • Understanding of cGMP/Quality Systems Requirements
  • Understanding of how to work with measuring devices
  • Proficient with computer, such as MS Office, SLMS, PLM, MES/SAP, IdeaHive
