Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials is seeking a seasoned production supervisor to direct 20–40 production staff and 1–3 lead operators. The role emphasizes teaching, planning, policy implementation, and process improvements.

Occasional travel for training is required; standard 40-hour weeks with overtime potential. Responsibilities include staffing, performance reviews, safety enforcement, and driving continuous improvement on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wood products or related industry.
• Familiarity with safety procedures such as lock out, tag out.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office suite).
• Able to identify possible quality defects and causes; know corrective actions.
• Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
• Effective communication and writing skills.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Able to use measuring gauges such as tape measures.
• Strong problem-solving skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily activities of production work centers to meet deadlines and goals.
• Coordinate labor requirements with operations management and hire personnel per budget.
• Prepare performance reviews and maintain performance reports with accuracy.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure proper PPE usage.
• Coach and develop employees; resolve issues with operations and HR.
• Lead waste-reduction efforts using COS, SQDC boards, and corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic cycle counts and maintain accurate inventories.
• Lead special projects and cover for operations management during absences.
• Maintain time and attendance records.
