Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Newark, DE is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day production activities, ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost targets, and communicate priorities to operators and technicians.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience and Lean Manufacturing familiarity. This full-time position alternates weekly between 3x12 and 4x12 schedules, with initial training on first shift.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in technical field; B.A./B.S. preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising employees.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and measure day-to-day production activities with focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Communicate production priorities to operators and technicians.
• Ensure personnel are punctual and maintain attendance and timekeeping records.
• Make weekly payroll entries (Kronos timekeeping system).
• Enforce company policies and fairly apply existing labor contracts to all matters of discipline or attendance.
• Ensure personnel maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
• Communicate equipment, safety, process related issues to the appropriate staff as required.
• Review thermal processing equipment to ensure critical process parameters are met.
• Read, comprehend all relevant work instructions to ensure personnel are accomplishing production processes to established standards.
• Perform Skills Audits to make sure training is accurate and successful.
• Perform 6S, process, training audits as required.
• Responsible for production staff and workflow.
• Lead and manage 12-20 hourly employees in multiple departments
