Job summary

Empire Packing is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee one or more production lines, ensuring daily operations align with schedules, quality standards, and safety rules. The role directly supervises line staff, coordinates with Operations, and drives efficient production execution while maintaining product integrity and proper labeling.

The ideal candidate will lead by example, monitor performance, address issues with QA, maintenance, and plant management, and ensure compliance with GMP

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification
• Considerable knowledge of production processes and work requirements
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Ability to use various databases and applications independently
• Ability to comprehend implications of process, policies and regulations
• Ability to manage general services functional areas such as purchasing, transportation processing, inventory management, contracts and accountable property
• Ability to establish networks with customers and colleagues
• Ability to make decisions and solve complex problems independently
• Ability to lead other contractors
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise all aspects of assigned production line(s)
• Ensure production quality and safety
• Ensure tools and supplies are available
• Oversee safe and proper equipment disassembly and storage
• Perform proper production change-overs
• Notify maintenance when service is required
• Manage re-work to correct lines promptly
• Oversee integrity of finished product (quality, weights, labeling)
• Communicate issues to Plant Manager/QA/Maintenance
• Maintain production efficiency and scheduling coordination
• Ensure correct lot numbers for raw materials
• Coordinate production communication flow between line workers
• Supervise line employees in daily setup and execution
• Train new employees on duties
• Manage attendance and reallocate personnel as needed
• Verify attendance on Master Schedule
• Escalate problems to QA/Maintenance/Plant Manager
• Complete daily paperwork
