Job summary

ABC Consulting is seeking a Production Manager in New Jersey to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant production of high-quality products. The role oversees production staff, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination with Maintenance, QA, Warehouse, and Planning.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing leadership in food, with a strong track record on continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, Business, or related field
• Five+ years in food manufacturing leadership with at least 3 years in production management
• Experience in snack foods or consumer packaged goods preferred
• Strong knowledge of FDA FSMA, GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, allergen controls and food safety systems
• Data-driven approach to improving manufacturing performance

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to meet production, quality, safety and efficiency goals.
• Direct production supervisors and teams to promote accountability and engagement.
• Ensure production schedules are met while optimizing labor, equipment and throughput.
• Monitor daily performance and adjust staffing, scheduling and workflow as needed.
• Coordinate priorities with Maintenance, QA, Warehouse, Shipping and Planning.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, GMPs, HACCP and sanitation programs.
• Promote a culture prioritizing safety, food safety and quality.
• Support audits from customers, regulators and third parties.
• Drive continuous improvement and data analysis to improve metrics and outcomes.
• Build cross-functional relationships to implement best practices.
