LDK Talent Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing/Production Manager for a food manufacturing client in New Jersey. You will oversee daily production operations, manage schedules, and lead a team to meet quality, safety, and cost targets.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, inventory control, process optimization, and reporting to senior management. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in production leadership within food manufacturing and strong regulatory knowledge (FDA/USDA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in a production management role within the food manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and best practices.

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production processes. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring that production goals are met on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food manufacturing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement. And this is how you'll do it...

• Oversee Production Operations: Manage and coordinate daily production activities to ensure efficient operations and meet production schedules.
• Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and develop production teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety. Provide training and development opportunities for staff to ensure optimal performance.
• Production Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with the planning and procurement teams to develop production schedules, allocate resources, and optimize workflow to meet customer demand.
• Quality Control: Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain quality control procedures and conduct regular product inspections.
• Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity. Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA guidelines and company health and safety policies. Conduct regular safety training and inspections.
• Inventory & Resource Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to ensure adequate supplies without overstocking. Work closely with the supply chain team to minimize production downtime.
• Cost Control: Manage production budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, key metrics, and any issues or challenges to senior management. Use data analysis to drive decision-making and improvements.

Experience and Skills

• Bachelors degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in a production management role within the food manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and best practices.
• Proven experience in managing teams, driving operational improvements, and implementing quality control measures.
• Knowledge of industry regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.) and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in production management software and MS Office Suite.
• Experience in Safety practices.

Compensation range is $150k - $175k base, Bonus and Benefits!
