Job summary

LSG Sky Chefs is hiring immediately for a full-time 1st Product Cook to prepare products for airline, e-commerce, and retail customers. Duties include creating sauces, soups and proteins from scratch, managing production levels, and ensuring HACCP procedures are followed.

Ideal candidates have culinary schooling or 5+ years in a high-volume kitchen, with English and possibly Spanish language skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work long shifts in a cold or hot environment.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, speak and write English; Spanish or other languages beneficial.
• Minimum of five years experience in a high-volume kitchen or completion of culinary school.
• Ability to convert to metric measures using conversion chart.
• Ability to prepare ethnic food items where necessary.
• Able to work in refrigerated and hot areas; lift up to 50 lbs; lead by example for safety.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in customer presentations, menu design and implementation.
• Create sauces, soups, starches, proteins and vegetables from scratch.
• Determine production levels and request proper amounts of supplies and food from the storeroom.
• Prepare food in accordance with procedures/recipes, ensuring taste, color, texture and proper HACCP procedures.
• Inventory supply levels and requisition food products as necessary.
• Delegate production needs to second cook and assist Executive Chef and Production Chef.
• Prepare food based on a pre-determined production level and requisition supplies.
