Job description

Product Lead / Principal Product Manager – Community & Learning Platform
Midtown | Hybrid *sorry no remote
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re partnering with a global technology and learning organization building a community-driven platform designed to help the next generation develop real-world skills through creation, collaboration, and hands-on experiences.

The platform brings together learners, educators, universities, industry partners, creators, and employers within an ecosystem where young people can participate in projects, build portfolios, develop skills, learn alongside peers and mentors, and create pathways toward future education and career opportunities.

The company is entering an exciting stage of growth and is looking for a Product Lead / Principal Product Manager to take meaningful ownership of the platform and help turn an ambitious vision into products and experiences that learners want to use.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a high-ownership, hands-on product role for someone who loves building.

You’ll own a significant area of the product from discovery through delivery, working closely with users, engineering, design, learning teams, and external partners to determine what should be built, rapidly test ideas, ship products, and learn from how people actually use them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own a meaningful product area from strategy and discovery through launch, iteration, and measurement.
  • Build digital experiences that help learners create, collaborate, participate in projects, build portfolios, demonstrate skills, and connect with peers and mentors.
  • Help evolve structured learning experiences into a more always-on community platform.
  • Design and test features that drive activation, engagement, contribution, retention, and belonging.
  • Conduct user discovery with learners, educators, and community members and translate insights into product decisions.
  • Work closely with engineering and design to rapidly prototype, experiment, iterate, and ship.
  • Navigate the needs of multiple stakeholders, including learners, educators, universities, creators, studios, and other industry partners.
  • Use data and real-world user behavior to inform priorities and measure product success.
  • Explore how AI can increase creativity, participation, learning, and user agency.
  • Bring structure and strong product judgment to an environment where there is significant opportunity to shape both the product and how the team operates.
IDEAL BACKGROUND
  • Strong product management experience with a track record of personally building and shipping digital products.
  • Experience independently owning a meaningful product, platform, or product area.
  • Background in online learning, skills development, community/social products, creator platforms, gaming/UGC, marketplaces, or adjacent consumer technology.
  • Strong understanding of user engagement and the product mechanics that encourage people to participate, contribute, return, and build relationships within a platform.
  • Experience with user discovery, rapid experimentation, product analytics, and iterative development.
  • Ability to move comfortably between strategic product thinking and detailed execution.
  • Strong technical fluency and the ability to partner closely with engineering.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in an environment where the product and business model continue to evolve.
  • Interest in AI and how it can be incorporated thoughtfully into product experiences.
  • Comfort working across a global, distributed organization and diverse stakeholder groups.
WHO YOU ARE

You may currently be a Principal Product Manager, Lead Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, or similar high-ownership IC who is ready for broader scope.

You don't need to have worked across learning, gaming, community, and marketplaces all at once. We’re particularly interested in product builders who have gone deep in one or more of these areas and are excited by the opportunity to help connect learning, creation, community, and real-world opportunity.

This is an opportunity to join at a formative stage, take substantial ownership, and help build a platform where the next generation can move from consuming technology to actively creating with it.
