Job summary

• Ability to train, supervise and evaluate produce department staff; ensure safety, courtesy and proper appearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations by produce department personnel through friendliness and courtesy, and implementation of company policies.
• Be alert to store security and assist as needed.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues.
• Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, disciplining, transferring and evaluating produce staff.
• Ensure proper training in price marking and maintain productivity.
• Supervise salad bar operations and schedule staff for full and part-time roles.
• Maintain department cleanliness, uniform appearance and proper disposal of waste.
• Direct receiving, storing, pricing and merchandising of all produce products.
• Maintain adequate stock by proper ordering and document records; keep cooler and prep areas clean.
