Job summary

Kimmel Associates is seeking a Lead Process Estimator to own pricing for complex water and wastewater projects. This hands-on leadership role involves directing the estimating team, pricing for hard-bid and design-build work, and collaborating across project managers, engineers, and operations to optimize bid strategies.

The role emphasizes independence in a remote work setting with monthly office presence, and offers growth as the estimating function expands with the company.

Qualifications

• Strong background in process piping and equipment estimating, ideally within water and wastewater treatment.
• Experience pricing bypass, phased construction, and work on live/operational systems.
• Experience with hard-bid and design-build project delivery.
• Ability to lead or mentor estimators and build an estimating team as workload grows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate self-performed piping and equipment scopes for water and wastewater projects.
• Develop bypass strategies and pricing for work involving active process systems.
• Account for costs of maintaining plant operations during construction.
• Prepare estimates for predominantly hard-bid projects.
• Support design-build pursuits with early-stage pricing and input on constructability.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams.
• Review drawings, specs, and site conditions for sequencing challenges.
• Develop pricing for phased construction and live-system work.
• Lead and mentor the estimating team as the company grows.
• Establish estimating best practices and contribute to company growth.
