Job summary

Dennis Group's Process Engineers design and build food and beverage processing facilities, handling controls, packaging, mechanical, electrical, and building systems from concept through construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities include developing process design basis, P&ID, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and coordinating with project teams, with travel up to 50% of the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or process engineering.
• 8+ years of work experience developing process designs for food and beverage processing facilities.
• 8+ years of work experience preparing process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• 8+ years of work experience sizing and specification of process and process utility equipment.
• 8+ years of work experience developing project scope, budget and process related work schedules.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven client interaction and experience.
• Travel on-site construction project coordination with 30–50% travel.

Responsibilities

• Execute all tasks necessary to complete the engineering on a project from design through execution with minimal support.
• Develop process design basis and select unit operations.
• Develop operation specifications.
• Coordinate with other project disciplines (engineers, designers, architects).
• Prepare process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
• Create process flow diagrams and mass/energy balances.
• Size and specify process and process utility equipment.
• Assist project management with scope, budget, and schedule for process work.
• Coordinate schedules and work of contractors for equipment installation.
• Provide onsite construction start-up and commissioning support.
• Perform onsite audits and surveys of facilities and equipment.
