Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking a Process Automation Lead to run a team of developers delivering automated business workflows. You will code, review PRs, and set technical direction while modernizing manual processes into reliable automation. The role combines leadership with hands-on development in a regulated environment.

You will design and build with Appian, Pega, or Camunda, ensure API integrations, and partner with business units to deliver enterprise-grade automation at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, process automation, or solution delivery.
• Built production workflow automation on low-code/orchestration platforms (Appian, Pega, Camunda).
• Experience in regulated environments; strong API and SDLC fundamentals.
• Led engineering or automation teams and wrote/reviewed code regularly.
• Knowledge of architecture repositories and process modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run and mentor a team of automation developers; set technical direction and standards.
• Design, build, test, and support automated business workflows; stay hands-on where needed.
• Turn process designs into reliable software; own delivery end-to-end from requirements to deployment.
• Integrate orchestration platform with surrounding systems; ensure enterprise security and controls.
• Evaluate new tools (AI/agentic automation) and shape the team’s tooling decisions.
• Collaborate with product, platform, service, and delivery teams across the matrix.
