Job summary

State Street is seeking a Process Automation Lead to run a team of developers building automated business workflows. You will write code, review PRs, and set technical direction while transforming manual processes into reliable automation.

In the role, you’ll integrate systems, ensure enterprise standards, and explore how AI and agentic automation fit into a product-led operating model. You’ll be hands-on as a working leader in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

10+ years in software engineering, process automation, or solution delivery.
Led engineering or automation teams and still writes or reviews code.
Built workflow automation on a low-code/orchestration platform with integrations.
Solid fundamentals: APIs, integration patterns, testing, SDLC.
Experience in a regulated environment with matrixed orgs.
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Run the team: mentor automation developers, set technical direction, review designs and code.
Build the automation: design, build, test, and support automated business workflows; stay hands-on.
Fix broken processes: identify high-friction workflows worth automating and convert designs to running software.
Own delivery end-to-end: from requirements to deployment with enterprise security and resilience.
Connect systems: build integrations between the orchestration platform and surrounding systems.
Evaluate new tools: pilot AI/agentic automation and shape tooling decisions.
Set standards and build consensus across product, platform, service, and delivery teams.
