Job summary

Stripe, a leading financial infrastructure platform, is seeking a senior Privacy Counsel in New York, NY. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Legal to design privacy-by-design controls and navigate global privacy regimes.

You’ll lead cross-functional workstreams for acquisitions and post-close integration, advise on data processing agreements, and help advance privacy governance across Stripe’s products and services.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree with bar admission in at least one US state.
• 6+ years as a privacy lawyer with global privacy law knowledge.
• Experience leading privacy workstreams for acquisitions and post-close integration.
• Ability to translate complex technical facts into practical legal advice.
• Strong communication and project leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead privacy counsel on cross-functional initiatives and assess privacy risks.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Data Science, GTM, and others to embed privacy by design.
• Develop and implement Stripe’s privacy infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
• Lead privacy workstreams for acquisitions and strategic transactions from diligence to integration.
• Own privacy integration of acquired businesses, products, and data practices.
• Lead or advise on Data Processing Agreements and privacy provisions in contracts.
• Shape Stripe’s privacy governance approach for AI and ML.
