Job summary

Stripe is seeking a product lawyer to counsel our product and engineering teams on a range of legal and regulatory issues related to Stripe’s software solutions. You will work with privacy, security, and partnerships teams to provide pragmatic advice from scoping to launch.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in technology law, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years as a qualified lawyer in technology companies or top law firms handling product development and regulatory issues.
• Experience with cloud-based API services and financial tech regulation is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to explain complex concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
• Excellent judgment, ownership mentality, and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Counsel Stripe product and engineering teams on issues relating to Stripe's software solutions and services.
• Collaborate with engineering, partnerships, privacy, and security teams to provide pragmatic legal advice across the product lifecycle from scoping to launch.
• Draft, review, and update foundational terms and documents for Stripe’s products and services.
• Stay informed on laws and regulatory updates affecting consumer financial data access and advise on potential product impacts.
• Partner with the product team as a trusted advisor on legal and strategic business input for roadmap decisions.
