Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company seeks an Associate Actuary to support the THREE insurtech initiative. You will lead pricing, reserving analyses, and product development for assigned lines, partnering with underwriting and product teams, and serving as a technical resource in rating and policy administration systems.

This hybrid role reports to an Actuarial Leader and requires pursuing FCAS (ACAS in progress), 5+ years of property/casualty pricing/reserving, and proficiency in SQL, R,

Qualifications

• Pursuing FCAS; close to ACAS designation.
• 5+ years actuarial pricing/reserving in P&C.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, or VBA; rate filings experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead rate indications, reserving analyses, profitability studies across multiple lines.
• Provide actuarial support for diverse product sets including liquor liability and catastrophe-exposed perils.
• Support rate filing development with regulatory bodies and maintain documentation.
• Mentor junior analysts and present analyses to influence decisions.
