Job summary

The YMCA of Southeastern NC is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher in Clinton, NC for the Sampson County YMCA. The role focuses on delivering a half-day program from 8:45am to 12:15pm and overseeing summer preschool activities, about 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include implementing curriculum, planning daily lessons, supervising children, communicating with families, and maintaining records in line with YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of college preferred, working toward a degree in education or related field.
• CPR, First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire; experience with children in a development setting is preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate program activities; work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum within established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
• Supervises children, classroom, and activities.
• Maintains records including attendance, incidents, and behavior reports.
• Communicates with parents about site activities and child behavior.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of the program site and equipment.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings and follows Healthy Eating/PA standards.
