Job summary

The Wilmette Park District is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher to develop age-appropriate lesson plans for 2- to 5-year-olds, supervise daily routines, and support children's social and emotional growth. You will communicate regularly with parents, coordinate with Assistant Teachers, and ensure a positive classroom environment.

This part-time role requires knowledge of DCFS qualifications and strict safety adherence, while promoting collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with child care and/or child development focus, birth to age six.
• Alternatively, 1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience plus 30 semester hours with relevant courses.
• DCFS qualifications requirement for Illinois early childhood teachers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, present, and evaluate play-based curriculum lesson plans.
• Supervise classroom activities and daily routines.
• Maintain parent communication via email and apps.
• Direct and assist co-teachers in daily prep and cleanup of rooms.
• Attend monthly lesson plan meetings.
• Maintain attendance, emergency, and registration forms for each child.
• Complete accident reports within 24 hours.
• Uphold safety procedures and respond to emergencies.
