Job summary

Wilmette Park District is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher to support care, supervision, and development of preschool children ages 2-5. The role follows established classroom plans, aids with daily activities, and supports transitions.

Morning and afternoon PT shifts are available with listed benefits. The position emphasizes positive role modeling, safety, and teamwork, with responsibilities including accident reporting and communication with the Preschool Supervisor and Early Childhood

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and eligible under Illinois DCFS qualifications.
• 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) in child development or related coursework.
• 1 year (1560 hours) of child development experience OR 60/90 hours related coursework.
• Strong reading, writing, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in basic computer software and office tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classroom and daily routines with a positive approach.
• Support preschool children’s academic and emotional development.
• Maintain safety and promptly report accidents to supervisors.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and staff.
• Follow established classroom plans and program procedures.
• Attend required trainings and uphold district safety policies.
