Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Minnesota is seeking a #2 Press Operator for the 3rd shift to lead, train, and develop the crew while continually optimizing performance and quality. You will review specifications, set up tasks, and monitor runs to ensure high-quality output.

You will also troubleshoot, communicate across shifts, and coordinate preventive maintenance with Maintenance, using Lean principles to improve processes. A shift differential applies with a bonus plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher; vocational/technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and explain safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement; strong cross-shift communication; proven trainer capability.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing job specifications for material and set-up requirements.
• Performing or delegating set-up tasks.
• Monitoring the equipment and product through the job run to ensure a high-quality product.
• Performing moderately complex trouble-shooting related to product or equipment.
• Communicating effectively during shift and at shift hand-off.
• Evaluating mechanical condition of equipment, completing preventive maintenance; involving Maintenance as needed.
• Using computer-based workflow applications to manage files.
• Work results are not typically checked by others.
