Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Eagan, Minnesota is seeking a #2 Prepress Operator on the 2nd shift to lead the crew, oversee setup tasks, and drive quality improvements on the Core Print Solutions team.

Responsibilities include reviewing job specs, performing setup, monitoring equipment, troubleshooting, and handing off shifts while training others and maintaining safety and accuracy across productions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher; vocational/technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
• Good communication skills including experience sharing information across shifts and departments.
• Proven success as a trainer.
• Competence with rulers and measurement.
• Can regularly lift at least 5 lbs. above the shoulder as well as push, pull, and lift at least 10 lbs occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly standing walking, crouching, bending, reaching, and kneeling.
• Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing job specifications for material and set-up requirements.
• Performing or delegating set-up tasks.
• Monitoring the equipment and product through the job run to ensure a high-quality product.
• Performing moderately complex trouble-shooting related to product or equipment.
• Communicating effectively during shift and at shift hand-off.
• Evaluating mechanical condition of equipment, completing preventive maintenance; involving Maintenance as needed.
• Using computer-based workflow applications to manage files.
• Work results are not typically checked by others.
