Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, is seeking a Preop/PACU Charge Nurse in Newport Beach, CA. You will supervise a nursing staff, oversee patient flow in the operating room and provide direct patient care with a focus on quality, safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates bring leadership, management and strong communication skills, a current California nursing license and at least two years in Preop/PACU within ambulatory surgery. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in nursing.
• Minimum of two years Pre-Op/PACU experience in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Current nursing license in the state.
• BLS required; PALS/ACLS optional.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff in Preop/PACU and provide patient care.
• Direct admission, discharge and flow of patients to the operating room; assign staff.
• Develop training programs and conduct needs assessments for nurses and staff.
• Maintain schedules, supplies and contribute to budgets where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and infection control policies.
