Job summary

Pacific Endo-Surgical Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, seeks an OR Charge Nurse for full-time on-site leadership in the perioperative area. You will supervise clinical staff, coordinate case flow, prepare staffing, and lead staff meetings to ensure smooth operations.

Must have a California RN license, BLS/ACLS, and at least three years of perioperative experience. Strong communication, prioritization, and collaboration with physicians and vendors are essential to success

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree preferred or work-related experience.
• Three (3) years experience in perioperative area.
• Current California RN License
• BLS and ACLS required
• Independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
• Knowledgeable of ASC policies and procedures specific to the department.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the clinical staff to provide a daily smooth flow of cases.
• Assists in coordination of daily/weekly case scheduling to ensure the schedule will flow smoothly.
• Prepares staffing schedules.
• Prepare, coordinate and perform monthly staff meetings for all departments.
• Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow.
• Reviews equipment needed for cases.
• Coordinate inventory request with the material manager.
• Assists with education by coordinating and/or giving in-services.
• Communicate with physicians to resolve equipment or instrument issues by coordinating ordering or getting repairs done.
• Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments that are needed for cases.
• Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs.
• Assists in preparing annual evaluations
• Works closely with manager/administrator with hiring and orienting clinical staff members
• Assistance in maintaining compliance for AAAHC surveys
• Enters company data collections and observations with company data system.
• Assistance with staff counseling as necessary
• Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.
