Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to act as the outside eye on owner/agency inspections. You will verify prestressing operations and review strength records, while maintaining PCI and DOT documentation and supervising Level I inspectors.

The role requires PCI Level II QC certification, 2+ years in a certified plant, and willingness to travel between plants.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification required with 2+ years in a precast/prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specs.
• ACI Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to maintain plant QC records and supervise Level I inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specs and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review records.
