Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or perform owner and agency plant inspections for DOT and structural programs. You will verify prestressing operations, review designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products, signing QC records for PCI and DOT programs.

You will supervise Level I inspectors, assign daily coverage, and participate in travel between plants on project

Qualifications

Current PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II and 2+ years in a certified precast plant.
Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and the DOT precast specifications for your state.
ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
Able to lead Level I inspectors and maintain plant QC records.

Responsibilities

Verify prestressing operations including strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
Accept or reject finished products per specifications and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner programs.
Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
Investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
Travel for owner and agency inspections as needed.
