Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to act as the outside eye on owner and agency projects. The role verifies prestressing operations, reviews mix designs and strength records, and decides to accept or reject finished products while maintaining PCI and DOT QC documentation.

Travel may be required. You will supervise Level I inspectors, manage daily coverage, and pursue PCI Level II

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification, current, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and the DOT precast specifications for your state.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records; investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
• Accept or reject finished products against the specification and the shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT or owner acceptance programs; Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.
