Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, and to act as the outside eye on owner and agency inspections. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and maintain PCI and DOT QC records to ensure compliance with project specifications.

The role requires PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II, 2+ years' experience in a certified precast or prestressed plant,

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and the DOT precast specifications for your state.
• ACI Strength Testing certification preferred; ability to enforce specs under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations including strand certification, tensioning, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records; investigate low breaks and adjust as needed.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications; maintain PCI and DOT compliant QC records; supervise Level I inspectors.
