Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or perform owner and agency plant inspections for DOT and structural precast programs.

You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, accept or reject finished products, and maintain QC records to PCI or DOT standards while mentoring Level I inspectors on site.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI certification preferred for concrete strength testing.
• Ability to enforce specs on production line when schedule tight.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specs and shop drawings.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI/DOT certifications and supervise Level I inspectors.
• Lead daily coverage and review inspectors' records.
