Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precaste Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to perform owner and agency inspections as needed. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and make accept/reject decisions based on specifications and shop drawings.

You will also maintain QC records for PCI and DOT programs, supervise Level I inspectors, and support certification and training initiatives

Qualifications

• PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II, current and active.
• 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to enforce specifications on production lines when schedules press.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings.
• Dispostion repairs and maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT certification.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.

PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 knowledge

DOT precast specifications knowledge

Driver's license

Education

PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II

ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification (preferred)
