Job summary

The Construction Material Testing in Frederick, MD is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs, and accept or reject products in line with PCI/DOT requirements.

You will supervise Level I inspectors, maintain QC records, and travel to project sites as needed. A PCI Level II QC certification with 2+ years' experience is required; DOT/ACI credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II QC certification with 2+ years in a precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Ability to hold a production line to specification when schedule pushes.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations and strand certification.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specs and shop drawings.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI/DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
