Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Germantown, MD seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to perform owner/agency inspections when required. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, accept or reject finished products, and maintain QC records for PCI and DOT programs.

Travel to multiple plants may be involved per project requirements.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specifications.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred; ability to enforce specs on production lines.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations including strand certification, tensioning, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records to ensure spec compliance.
• Accept or reject finished products and maintain PCI/DOT QC records.
• Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
• Travel for owner and agency inspections as required.
