Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead the plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or conduct owner and agency inspections for DOT and structural precast programs. The role verifies prestressing operations, reviews mix designs, and maintains QC records to meet PCI/DOT requirements.

The candidate will supervise Level I inspectors, assign daily coverage, review records, and ensure compliance with PCI and DOT specifications.

Qualifications

PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II, current.
Minimum 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specifications for your state.
ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
Accept or reject finished products against the specification and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner acceptance programs.
Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.
On owner and agency assignments, be the outside eye to ensure acceptance decisions stand on their own.
