Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is hiring a Pre-K Lead Teacher to plan and deliver age-appropriate instruction for four-year-olds, preparing them for kindergarten. Under the Center Manager, you will lead a classroom team and implement the YMCA Early Learning Curriculum.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field, knowledge of GELDS, and strong communication skills. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Knowledge of project-based curriculum such as Creative Curriculum.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for working with Pre-K students.
• Credentials must be verified in Georgia Professional Development System (PDS) prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction to Pre-kindergarten children aligned with GELDS.
• Behave in a professional, family- and child-centered manner.
• Model appropriate grammar and communication with students, parents, and staff.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning.
• Demonstrate developmentally appropriate practices for four- and five-year-olds.
• Maintain attendance records and daily roll book.
• Follow Bright from the Start operating guidelines.
• Attend required training for Pre-K teachers.
• Provide instruction based on YMCA Early Learning Curriculum and Signature Programs.
• Utilize developmentally appropriate practices across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
