Job summary

The Growing Years in Burlington, NC is seeking Lead Teachers to support Pre-K, providing developmentally appropriate activities and a safe, nurturing classroom. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, the ability to pass background checks, and an associate degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field; prior childcare experience is a plus.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–6:00 pm, with compensation of $17–$20 per hour based on education and experience.

• Pre-K

To be QUALIFIED for the Lead Teacher role, we require a high school diploma and the ability to pass all background checks, and an associate degree or higher in early childhood education or a relevant field. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Our Hiring Process for Lead Two's and Lead Preschool Teachers:

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Two's and Preschool Teachers:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carryout lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Useour parent communication appefficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; andmaintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintaina child assessment and portfoliofor each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing,walking,running,and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
