Job summary

Heritage Children's Academy of Wake Forest is seeking Lead Teachers for Pre-K and Preschool. You will prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans, implement weekly curriculum, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom.

The role requires an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or equivalent, the ability to pass background checks, and a Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm schedule. Compensation is $16–$20 per hour based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans weekly across all areas of child development and follow classroom schedule.
• Establish a professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of each child and maintain a clean, organized classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences.
• Perform physical duties around small children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as required.
• Carry out daily classroom responsibilities related to child care.

Heritage Children's Academy of Wake Forest is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teachers for the following age groups:

• Pre-K
• Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require the completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a relevant field OR the completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree with at least 12 early childhood education credits of their equivalent We also requirethe ability to pass all background checks.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation: $16-20/hr; based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Teachers:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carryout lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Useour parent communication appefficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; andmaintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintaina child assessment and portfoliofor each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing,walking,running,and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
