Job summary

The Growing Years of Burlington is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Preschool students. Join a family-oriented team and help foster growth across emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and preferably early childhood education credentials or 6 ECE credits, plus the ability to pass background checks. Prior childcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• ECE credentials or 6 ECE credits preferred.
• Ability to pass all background checks.
• Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom responsibilities.
• Implement activities supporting emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept feedback, and improve as needed for program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe classroom environment.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Be able to move around and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.

Job description

The Growing Years of Burlington is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the following age groups:

• Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma and prefer the completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation: $15-$17/hr, based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process:

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
